Furnishing a room is harder than it looks. The scale has to work, the materials have to belong, and the pieces have to hold up to how the space actually gets used. That kind of thinking is different from what most furniture services offer.
Form + Ground is a furniture selection practice built as part of Gunther Architecture. We start from the space - how it's built, how it's lit, how you live in it - and find pieces that fit all of that. Not based on what's trending.
We curate a room completely - from furniture through to art and accessories - so that every element exists for a reason.
What we offer
Space planning
Before anything gets ordered, we lay out the furniture to scale. You see exactly what fits and why.
Furniture sourcing
We find the right pieces from a curated set of quality suppliers and manage everything through to delivery. You don't have to coordinate a thing.
On larger projects, the trade pricing we have access to often means our design fees effectively pay for themselves. If you're furnishing a new home or outfitting a full space, you get the expertise without the added cost.
Why we built this
At Gunther Architecture, we've spent years thinking about how spaces work - how materials relate, how proportion affects the way a room feels, how the built environment shapes daily life. When it came time to furnish those spaces, we kept running into the same gap: furniture retail isn't set up to think the way architects do.
Form + Ground is our answer to that. It's not a showroom or a staging service. It's a considered practice, shaped by the same principles that guide our architecture work.
